ULTIMATE SUMMER SAHM SCHEDULE

ULTIMATE SUMMER PLAYBOOK | LYKKE STYLE

If you’re a stay-at-home parent (or ANY parent for that matter) staring down the barrel of an 80-day summer stretch with kids at home—this one’s for you. We’re talking sunscreen-streaked cheeks, popsicle-stained towels, and hours upon hours of inflatable poolside bliss. Welcome to Casa LYKKE, where outdoor memories are made daily and the only thing on the agenda is fun (with a sprinkle of structure).

Forget overcomplicated Pinterest routines—this is your real-life summer plan for keeping kids happy, engaged, and out of the house (or at least off their iPads).

5 TIPS TO MASTER THE OUTDOOR KID SUMMER

1. Build Your Backyard HQ

If you have a LYKKE pool, you already know: it’s a vibe. Set up a few zones in your yard—think: splash station, snack table, and chill lounge under the string lights. Bonus points for an inflatable movie night setup with cozy blankets, popcorn bowls, and a projector. It’s basically a resort.

2. Plan One Activity Outside Every Day

Even if it’s just 20 minutes. Foam blaster in the pool? Instant party. Sidewalk chalk art challenge? Check. Backyard bug hunt? Done. Keep it light, let the kids lead, and just say yes to the mess (or at least delay cleaning it until bedtime). Check out this amazing driveway chalk hopscotch activity - hours of fun (tried and true by your truly ;)

3. Hydration Station = Sanity Saver

Kids drink more when it’s fun. Grab sparkly cups, fruit-infused waters, and call it “spa water.” Our go-to: pink lemonade in pineapple cups. Make a whole event of it. Add umbrellas. Add shades. Add attitude.

4. Morning Movement, Afternoon Chill

Mornings are for water play, nature walks, or mini adventures. Afternoons? Think kinetic sand in the shade, a stack of library books, or a little baking while the kids cool off. (We fully support pancake stacks the size of your toddler.)

5. Prep the Night Before

Nothing ruins a good morning like not knowing where the sunscreen is. Lay out towels, fill the water table, and have snacks ready to go. Think of it like packing for vacation—but you’re just heading to the backyard.

OUR LYKKE SUMMER SCHEDULE (AGES 2-10)

7:00–9:00 AM – Wake & Fuel

Quick breakfast (pancakes if we’re feeling ambitious), get dressed in swimwear, slather on the SPF.

9:00–11:30 AM – Morning Outdoor Time

Ideas: Pool play with toys, foam blaster party, water painting on the fence, DIY obstacle course, or outdoor treasure hunt.

11:30 AM–12:30 PM – Lunch & Lemonade Bar

Kid-friendly bento box lunches + fancy lemonade. Little hands help with prep (aka make a mess).

12:30–2:00 PM – Cool Down & Quiet Play

Inside time. This could be a movie, nap, books, or playing with toys in the LYKKE pool indoors (yes, we’ve done that).

2:00–4:00 PM – Afternoon Project

Make pancakes, build forts, plant flowers, or set up an outdoor cinema for later. Something creative or cozy.

4:00–5:30 PM – Chill & Reset

Kids unwind with free play, while you prep dinner or sneak in a few quiet moments of your own.

5:30–7:00 PM – Dinner + Sunset Swim

Dinner al fresco, then one last dip in the pool as the string lights come on.

7:00–8:30 PM – Movie Under the Stars

Projector on. Popcorn out. Everyone in pajamas. A LYKKE pool becomes the comfiest movie theater seat in the backyard.

8:30–9:00 PM – Baths & Bedtime

Bubble bath, bedtime stories, and hopefully a smooth landing into sleep. (We believe in miracles.)

Final Thoughts:

Summer doesn’t have to be perfect. It just has to be joyful. Focus on the laughs, the splashes, the late-night movies, and the sticky fingers from too many popsicles. Your version of the perfect summer is already enough.

Now get out there and make some memories—LYKKE style.
